aw x h&m

I know I'm late to the game in terms of writing about the new Alexander Wang collab with H&M, but whatever I'm here now. Everyone is obsessing over this collection, but personally it has me feeling all sorts of things. I feel a bit guilty for not being like the rest of the world and just accepting this collection as a gift sent from the heavens because I usually find Wang's clothing to be totally on point.  But I don't know, these clothes are just really frustrating me. Can clothes actually frustrate a person? Is that a thing? The individual pieces are amazing and I want them all, but I guess it's just the styling for the show that is annoying me. I know this line is supposed to be an exaggerated version of workout clothing, but all the headgear and boxing gloves are just throwing me off. Like, you're not going to wear a tight dress to play softball! And you're not going to wear ski pants just for the fun of it. Am I the only one who is bothered by unpractical styling. Anyway, below are some of my opinions about his new designs. Enjoy :)

1. If you are going to wear a dress that short/ with all those cut outs, are the gloves really necessary? Like what kind of weather are you experiencing right now?

 2. Again with the gloves? Also what is around your waist? Is that a belt? An IcyHot? It kind of looks like those things you see people who work at The Home Depot or Lowes wear to help support their backs when they're lifting heavy objects.

 3. Okay, I'm just going to accept the gloves at this point. If you ever decide to go to the batting cages for your first date, definitely go with this outfit. Your guy will love it! (especially headgear/ face cage thing)

 4. What are you hiding in that bag??

5. I will repeat myself: what kind of weather are you experiencing. What season are you in right now? This is really confusing. Also, that looks like the most supportive (sports) bra ever. Those puppies are going nowhere!

 6. Okay, you actually look cool. I like you. I want everything you are wearing, especially the boxing gloves because I'm just an aggressive person.

7. Why do you look so sad? You are walking in a runway for Alexander Wang! Stop looking sad! Can you even hear me with that thing on your head.

8. Okay Alexander, I'm still mad at you for making such a frustrating line of clothing, but I'll forgive you this time because you look so darn cute running down that runway. You literally look like a little fawn frolicking in an open meadow for the first time.

hoco

Above are some super low quality iPhone pictures of my homecoming from last weekend. For me the main reason why I even go to homecoming/prom is for dressing up, the pictures and to see everyone else dressed up. I honestly don't even like dancing (because I am a horrible, horrible dancer) and I usually end up bored at the event. But this year was different. I actually danced (badly of course) the whole night and had such a good time with friends, and by the end of the night I could barely stand up because my feet were hurting so  much. As you can see in the last picture, my friends and I gave in to sitting down outside of the restroom because standing was just not going to happen.
I got my dress from Nasty Gal and was kind of nervous to try it on because it looked like it would be quite unforgiving, and my absurdly large food intake was probably not going to help. But five pairs of Spanx later (ok that's an exaggeration... or is it?) I looked in the mirror and was like: okay, not bad/could have been worse. In the end I was generally pleased with my look and strutted into homecoming with "Fancy" playing in my head.

street style. liu wen

To say I am obsessed with Liu Wen may be an understatement. She is my all time favorite model and I wish I could spend a day in her life. Like seriously. Not only is she beyond beautiful, but girl's got style. Her preppy-tomboy style is a look I can only wish to pull off in my dreams. Even wearing a t-shirt and jeans her outfit looks well thought out yet effortless, and very refined. And despite her boyish style, she still figures out a way to add feminine touches here and there.
Above is some fall outfit inspiration if you are located in a cooler region that actually experiences autumn. I am so desperate to wear fall clothes but the weather in LA lately has been in the 90s. It's October! All I want is to wear snuggly sweaters and drink hot chocolate but no, I am stuck in sundresses and sandals for at least another month.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post/I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been really busy with school. I need to keep making mental reminders to do this blog on like, a weekly basis. Okay, that's totally not going to happen...maybe every two weeks.

Have a great week!
