blank space

I just watched Taylor Swift's new music video for Blank Space, and I'm feeling so many feelings at the moment. I've always been a Taylor fan but I kinda lost faith in her when she went through her annoying, I'm-going-to-date-every-guy-there-is phase. I was just like: can you stop? Quality over quantity am I right?
BUT SHE'S BACK! I'm so happy! Now that she's calmed down a bit and is winning in every aspect of her life (ie. style/friends/cats/overall chill) I can thoroughly enjoy the wonderfulness that is Taylor Swift. Anyway, let me lead you through the magic of the Blank Space music video.

1. You know it's going to be good right from the start. That house. That car. Taylor's all like: "Hey MTV welcome to my crib!" Also great font choice. That is a solid font.

2. Then the video cuts to Tay in bed looking all relaxed with her cat. If I could spend the day in the life of somebody I would spend it in Taylor Swift's cat. Like how awesome would it be to be her cat? Just eat and be in music videos and become instafamous for looking adorable without even trying. That's really all I want out of life.

 3. Taylor's telling MTV: "Soooo this is my room. I wanted five ponies but daddy only said I could have two. I hate him."

 4. This giant staircase looks a little Great Gatsby. "Welcome to by banister MTV. This is my FAVORITE banister!!!"

 5. And then out of nowhere...BAM!! The lyrics that play along with this shot are: "saw you there and I thought oh my god look at that face, you look like my next mistake". Are you kidding?! This face is no mistake. This face is a gift sent from the heavens. Comon Taylor!!

 6. I can't. My eyes!!! Does Taylor get to choose who plays the love interests in her music videos or does someone else have a say? Who ever decided to hire him--THANK YOU.

 7. BIKING IS AN OUTDOOR ACTIVITY! This makes me so nervous. I feel like this house would have lots of valuables/antiques in it and one of them is definitely going to crash if they keep riding inside.

8. Yea just riding my horses in my estate, nbd. Also, it is obviously cloudy outside. Are the sunglasses even necessary?

9. I wish she would stop running in pretty dresses in her music videos. It makes me anxious. That dress is so beautiful and she's probably just going to trip and get grass stains all over it.

10. The dress in this scene is to die for. I might actually be dead right now because I love it so much. Also, who knew Taylor could paint? She is just so impressive.

11. LOL @ the horse.

12. Where was this filmed? I want to know so bad. It is beautiful! To me, nothing is more satisfying than an over the top, super green, neatly cut, lawn. Just look at all that grass! And the hedges with the pools/ponds whatever those bodies of water are. The location game for this video is majorly on point.

13. But uh-oh! Trouble in paradise? Why is he smiling at his phone? Why is she giving him side eye? What is happening right now?!!!!

14. Things take a turn in the music video right about now as Taylor starts screaming and throwing things like a toddler who can't express his/her emotions. Basically me when I haven't eaten in at least 45 minutes.

15. Don't do it Taylor! He waited 10 hours in line at the Apple Store for that iPhone 6!

16. Okay then. That's a bummer.

17. Well don't look so surprised Tay. You knew you were going to dump his phone in the water. You don't have to rub it in his face.

18. Time for Tay to get hella cray. I'm kinda scared of her right now, tbh.

19. This Mean Girls reference is too perfect. #nipslip

20. That just doesn't look like a comfortable position. And what's with the deer in the background?

21. Taylor promoting healthy eating.

22. STOP IT! PLEASE NO! This was painful for me to watch. I hate it when pretty things get destroyed in movies/videos. DROP THE GOLF CLUB NOW!

23. Poor guy. He looks like me when I hear, smell, or see food I want.

24. Is the knife really necessary. I know you got your feelings hurt, but maybe we could talk about it before we get physical.

 25. I want to push her off of the horse. Am I the only one who is always tempted to push things off things they shouldn't be pushed off of?

26. Ummm....did she..........is he okay?

27. The horse: "What the......you okay over there?"

28. Is he dead or just knocked out? Either way, why is she biting his lip like that? Creep.

29. So I guess we can confirm that he is indeed alive, and speeding out of there as fast as he can. "Bye Felicia!"

30. Oh? And who might this be?

31. A new love interest perhaps? Hopefully not because his face does looks like a mistake. He looks like he is about to or just has killed somebody. Taylor DO NOT go for this guy. He will hold a pillow to your face in the middle of the night when you are fast asleep.

THE END!
Here's the video if you want to check it out yourself :)

HAPPY MONDAY!!

aw x h&m

I know I'm late to the game in terms of writing about the new Alexander Wang collab with H&M, but whatever I'm here now. Everyone is obsessing over this collection, but personally it has me feeling all sorts of things. I feel a bit guilty for not being like the rest of the world and just accepting this collection as a gift sent from the heavens because I usually find Wang's clothing to be totally on point.  But I don't know, these clothes are just really frustrating me. Can clothes actually frustrate a person? Is that a thing? The individual pieces are amazing and I want them all, but I guess it's just the styling for the show that is annoying me. I know this line is supposed to be an exaggerated version of workout clothing, but all the headgear and boxing gloves are just throwing me off. Like, you're not going to wear a tight dress to play softball! And you're not going to wear ski pants just for the fun of it. Am I the only one who is bothered by unpractical styling. Anyway, below are some of my opinions about his new designs. Enjoy :)

1. If you are going to wear a dress that short/ with all those cut outs, are the gloves really necessary? Like what kind of weather are you experiencing right now?

 2. Again with the gloves? Also what is around your waist? Is that a belt? An IcyHot? It kind of looks like those things you see people who work at The Home Depot or Lowes wear to help support their backs when they're lifting heavy objects.

 3. Okay, I'm just going to accept the gloves at this point. If you ever decide to go to the batting cages for your first date, definitely go with this outfit. Your guy will love it! (especially headgear/ face cage thing)

 4. What are you hiding in that bag??

5. I will repeat myself: what kind of weather are you experiencing. What season are you in right now? This is really confusing. Also, that looks like the most supportive (sports) bra ever. Those puppies are going nowhere!

 6. Okay, you actually look cool. I like you. I want everything you are wearing, especially the boxing gloves because I'm just an aggressive person.

7. Why do you look so sad? You are walking in a runway for Alexander Wang! Stop looking sad! Can you even hear me with that thing on your head.

8. Okay Alexander, I'm still mad at you for making such a frustrating line of clothing, but I'll forgive you this time because you look so darn cute running down that runway. You literally look like a little fawn frolicking in an open meadow for the first time.

hoco

Above are some super low quality iPhone pictures of my homecoming from last weekend. For me the main reason why I even go to homecoming/prom is for dressing up, the pictures and to see everyone else dressed up. I honestly don't even like dancing (because I am a horrible, horrible dancer) and I usually end up bored at the event. But this year was different. I actually danced (badly of course) the whole night and had such a good time with friends, and by the end of the night I could barely stand up because my feet were hurting so  much. As you can see in the last picture, my friends and I gave in to sitting down outside of the restroom because standing was just not going to happen.
I got my dress from Nasty Gal and was kind of nervous to try it on because it looked like it would be quite unforgiving, and my absurdly large food intake was probably not going to help. But five pairs of Spanx later (ok that's an exaggeration... or is it?) I looked in the mirror and was like: okay, not bad/could have been worse. In the end I was generally pleased with my look and strutted into homecoming with "Fancy" playing in my head.

street style. liu wen

To say I am obsessed with Liu Wen may be an understatement. She is my all time favorite model and I wish I could spend a day in her life. Like seriously. Not only is she beyond beautiful, but girl's got style. Her preppy-tomboy style is a look I can only wish to pull off in my dreams. Even wearing a t-shirt and jeans her outfit looks well thought out yet effortless, and very refined. And despite her boyish style, she still figures out a way to add feminine touches here and there.
Above is some fall outfit inspiration if you are located in a cooler region that actually experiences autumn. I am so desperate to wear fall clothes but the weather in LA lately has been in the 90s. It's October! All I want is to wear snuggly sweaters and drink hot chocolate but no, I am stuck in sundresses and sandals for at least another month.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post/I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been really busy with school. I need to keep making mental reminders to do this blog on like, a weekly basis. Okay, that's totally not going to happen...maybe every two weeks.

Have a great week!

oscar de la renta spring 2015

Below are my favorite looks from Oscar de la Renta's spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Fully obsessed with this skirt. Have you ever seen a more perfect skirt? Look at that detail! I will be dreaming about this for a long time. Also that coat! I usually don't like pink, but I can make an exception.
Loving the delicate, feminine detail in this dress. The belt is an interesting contrast to the dress, but I'm not so sure I'm a fan....okay maybe I am.
Oscar's killin' it with these skirts. Just kidding, I think this is a dress...but he's still killin' it.
This looks like it would be a lot of fun to wear. If I was in this dress I would literally just be spinning in it the whole time. Also the beading at the top and on the straps is perfect. Plus: perfect, simple, clean, fresh makeup and hair.
The minimalist inside of me can't even express my feelings for this.
This makes me want to go on a picnic.
 My eyes are still adjusting.

I am in love with this collection! Although my favorite looks were mostly white (because I am a hardcore minimalist) all the colors used for the collection--pink, baby blue, black, lime green & floral-- complemented each other nicely and shouted SPRING! In Oscar fashion, all the pieces were polished, feminine and colorful. I really like how the floral cutouts/prints, and cropped tops made this collection youthful and fresh.  Also I am such a fan of the sandals. They not only look chic, but they seem like they would be comfortable too. So excited for next spring now that I know these clothes exist.
